I think it's time to create an updated version of the Equal Rights Amendment, and Civil Rights Act Of 1964 and 1968. Obviously there is there still a problem if the Charleston shooting and The 2014 USA riots happened. Not to mention that 25% of women report discrimination and unfair treatment at work.
We need to pass a bill that does a better job of protecting men and women, races, LGBTs, religions, etc from discrimination and unequal treatment. For example, gay people and Muslims.
It shouldn't be based on someone's beliefs, color, sexual orientation, species, etc, but on his/her intelligence. How sentient you are should determine whether you deserve equal human rights, some human rights, or none at all. Certain animals probably deserve, at least some, equal rights like dolphins, dogs, birds, and monkeys.
